This was a renovation of an original Acorn post and beam passive solar house. The antique pine ceilings and fir floors demanded using a strong color palette to balance out all of the warm wood. Prior to renovation, the main floor was a series of small rooms so we moved a bathroom and opened walls and expanded the kitchen. The original fir top cabinets were repurposed and paired with new saffron yellow custom bottom cabinets. We gave it lots of white walls and trim to provide the necessary breathing space. It is a blend of modern furnishings, antiques and rustic elements.
