Gooch’s Beach Cottage | Kennebunkport, ME | 2005
This remains one of my favorite renovations. A cottage built in the 1940’s was turned into a warm coastal retreat brimming with unexpected airiness and charm. The spaces were designed to be very efficient using built-ins for maximum hidden storage, dual-purpose chests/tables/ottomans, a guest room suite that can be private when guests are there or opened up to the main living area becoming an additional family room space. The lower level walkout basement is a full media room and game/bar area. The pine floors are original adding a nice warm contrast to all the sea greens, blues and creams.
