Captain’s Watch Renovation | Kittery Point, ME | 2013
This is a condo overlooking the Piscataqua River and towards the Portsmouth, NH waterfront. This client’s favorite color is green which works so well with the red of the historic brick row houses lining the active seaport. One of the challenges of condo living is invariably there are interior spaces that are void of natural light. My favorite part of this job is a small interior room (9 x 11) with no windows. The ultimate challenge, I commissioned a local muralist to paint a 360 degree mural of the Portsmouth waterfront in the late 1800’s. It is so fun to stand in the hallway and look right at the live scenic waterfront in real time and then look left at the historical realistic mural pulling you back in time. The small space looks triple its size with its expansive views.
